"Experiments with Sensors"
with Annie Goh, Mari Matsutoya, Shingo Inao and Chikashi Miyama
la-condition-japonaise will present a concert and sound performance night with solo and duo setups of sensor systems and players.

3. Annie Goh & Mari Matsutoya, "morpholexical ping pong" - an improvisational dialogue of acoustic misunderstandings and semanto-phonetic morphologies for self-made sensor instruments, live voice and Supercollider.

Mari Matsutoya was born in Tokyo and moved to London at the age of 5, studied German Literature at King's College London and at Humboldt University Berlin. She is currently studying fine art (freie Kunst) under Prof. Gregor Schneider, and is as a guest student at the generative art (Kunst und Medien) faculty. Coming from a musical background, she have always been fascinated by the translation that occurs between the visual and the audio planes.
Annie Goh, born in Birmingham UK, moved to Berlin in 2008. Her works include installations, compositions and performances working with themes of sound, imagination and auditive perception. She completed her MA in Sound Studies at the UdK Berlin in 2010, is a member of the artist collective Berg26 and currently studies Computational Art with Alberto de Campo.
Chikashi Miyama received his Ph.D (music composition) from University at Buffalo, USA. His compositions have received a second prize in SEAMUS competition, a special prize in Destellos competition. His works and papers have been accepted by ICMC 12 times, by NIME 4 times, and selected by international festivals in 17 countries. He received DAAD research grant this year and is currently working as a visiting researcher at ZKM, Karlsruhe, Germany.
Shingo Inao is a sound artist and performer. Inao received his Master degree with an honorary mention in Bauhaus University Weimar. His installations and objects were presented in Berlin, Rome, Bruessels, Vienna, USA etc. His performance with self-made instrument are seen in several festivals, for example, Transmediale (Berlin, 2010), electro mechanica (St.Petersburg, 2009) etc. He received a grant in 2011 from Yoshino Gypsum Art Foundation. He lives and works in Berlin.
"Chingo" is a duo consisting of Chikashi Miyama and Shingo Inao. They explore the interaction between body movements and sonic gestures employing self-designed sensor-based instruments "Tosso" and "Peacock."
