CTM 2014 Ausstellung: Generation Z : ReNoise > Klangkunst- und Musiktechnik Pioniere in Russland Anfang des 20. Jahrhundert
Die Ausstellung Generation Z : ReNoise - Klangkunst- und Musiktechnik-Pioniere in Russland Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts gibt einen Überblick über das Schaffen und das Schicksal der Gemeinschaft von Klangforschern, Apologeten der "Maschinenmusik" und Erfindern neuer musikalischer Technologien im durch Revolution, Krieg und Diktatur durcheinandergeworfenen Russland zu Beginn des vorigen Jahrhunderts. Die von Liubov Pchelkina und Andrey Smirnov, dem Gründungsdirektor und Leiter der Abteilung für Medientechnologien des Theremin Centers für elektroakustische Musik am Staatlichen Konservatorium Moskau, zusammengestellte Ausstellung zeigt seltene Originale und Nachbauten früher Klangmaschinen und gibt Hintergrundinformationen durch zahlreiche Text-, Ton- und Bilddokumente. Nach Präsentationen in Paris, Budapest, St. Petersburg und Moskau sowie der Buchveröffentlichung Sound in Z: Experiments in Sound and Electronic Music in Early 20th-century Russia (Walter König 2013), wird die Ausstellung beim CTM 2014 um die SektionReNoise erweitert. In Zusammenarbeit mit den Forschern und Künstlern Konstantin Dudakov, Peter Aido and Evgenia Vorobyeva werden Nachbauten einiger der mehr als 200 von Vladimir Popov zwischen 1920 und 1950 erfundenen mechanischen Geräuschinstrumente gezeigt.

Am Samstag, den 25.1.2014 präsentieren Andrey Smirnov, Liubov Pchelikna, Konstantin Dudakov und Pyotr Aido vertiefende Einblicke in diese faszinierende Zeit des künstlerisch-technischen Aufbruchs (alle Vorträge in englischer Sprache!).

Der ReNoise Workshop ist eine Zusammenarbeit zwischen den Forschern und Musikern Peter Aidu, Konstantin Dudakov-Kashuro und Evgenia Vorobyeva, die die Musikkultur des Noise im postrevolutionären Russland erforschen. Beim CTM-Festival 2014 zeigt ReNoise etliche Rekonstruktionen ausgefallener Instrumente proletarischer Geräuschmusik-Amateure und eine einzigartige Auswahl an mechanischen Geräusch-Instrumenten, die zwischen 1920 und 1950 von Vladimir Popov erfunden wurden. Die Renoise-Forscher bieten einen 4-tägigen Workshop, der sowohl Amateure als auch ausgebildete Musiker einlädt, das Spielen der historischen Instrumente und Erfindungen Popov's zu erlernen, bevor sie am Donnerstag, dem 30.1., um 18.30 Uhr etliche Originalstücke in einem öffentlichen Konzert aufführen mit den Berliner Amateuren. Der ReNoise-Workshop ist auf 8 Personen begrenzt, die sich an dem Noise-Orchestra beteiligen, und weiteren 20, die eingeladen sind einen Frauen-Chor zu bilden. CTM 2014 Exhibtion: Generation Z : ReNoise > Russian Pioneers of Sound Art and Musical Technology in the early 20th Century
Curated by Andrey Smirnov, former founding director of the Theremin Center the head of the Sector for Media Technologies at the Center for Electroacoustic Music at the Moscow State Conservatory, the Generation Z : ReNoise – Russian Pioneers of Sound Art and Musical Technology at the Early 20th Century exhibition at CTM 2014 assembles rare original early sound equipment and explores the fate of researchers, sound experimentalists, and inventors active during a Russian period of revolution, war, and dictatorship in the first decades of the 20th century. After presentations in Paris, Budapest, St. Petersburg and Moscow, and the publication of the book Sound in Z: Experiments in Sound and Electronic Music in Early 20th-century Russia(Walter König 2013), the Berlin version of the Generation Z exhibition will be expanded with the new section, ReNoise. A collaboration with researchers and artists Konstantin Dudakov, Pyotr Aido and Evgenia Vorobiova ReNoise will show reconstructions of a selection of the more than 200 mechanical noise instruments invented by Vladimir Popov between the 1920s and the 1950s.

On Saturday, Janaury, 25, 2014 Andrey Smirnov, Liubov Pchelkina, Konstantin Dudakov and Pyotr Aido will be present throughout the festival week to give lectures, workshops, performances and guided tours to further illuminate this fascinating period of artistic inventiveness. Language is English.

A collaboration between researchers and musicians Peter Aidu, Konstantin Dudakov-Kashuro, and Evgenia Vorobyeva that explores noise music culture that thrived in post-revolution Russia, ReNoise will be displaying reconstructions of the proletarian amateur eccentric instruments as well as the unique selection of mechanical noise instruments invented by Vladimir Popov between the 1920-1950s at the CTM 2014 Festival. ReNoise researchers will also present a 4-day workshop that invites amateur and trained musicians to learn to play some of proletarian instruments and Popov's industrial sound devices, and perform a programme, consisting of original pieces to be performed in a public concert on Thursday 30.1. at 18h30. The ReNoise workshop is limited to 8 people, who will take part in noise orchestra, and to 20 people, who are invited to make up female chorus.
