"It was six men of Indostan To learning much inclined, Who went to see the Elephant (Though all of them were blind), That each by observation Might satisfy his mind(......)" John Godfrey Saxe
New (and old) videos by Delia POPA and Diana SANDOR, followed by a speed dating performance with Ms. Popa & Ms.Sandor.
Delia POPA is an artist interested in elephants, bears and other wild, but giant animals. Her videos are often dialogues with herself in front of the camera and they sometimes take other forms, such as chants or electronic poems. Maan Menelu (2009) is an incursion into the world of love sickness, as expressed through the words of Romanian "Manele" songs. 5+20 (2006) is full of unseen characters. Elephant in the Salon (2007) is a story about a pink elephant, unhappy with his or her life. Tata-n Parc (2007) is a mourning song.
Diana SANDOR never really knew what she wanted to be when she grew up. Meanwhile, she has been working with photography and video to pass the time. Congratulations! You Have Reached Level 3 (2010) is a video intervention made with Delia POPA while working at THE KNOT, a mobile platform for art production and presentation in Bucharest. Hello Kätzchen (2011) is a small reminder: no act is so private it does not seek applause.
